Akira of the Dead (アキラ オブ ザデッド , Akira obu zadeddo?) is the first chapter of the Zom 100 manga. It is written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Takata Koutarou. It was released in Monthly Sunday GX on October 19, 2018 on its November 2018 issue.[1]
Summary[]
Akira Tendou watches a zombie movie in his trashed apartment, asking if he can trade places with the man because he works in an office, then states he doesn't want to go as he fell asleep.
Three years ago, Akira Tendou gets introduced to his new workplace and thinks one of his co-workers, Saori Ohtori, is cute. After work, he stays in the office with his co-workers to have dinner. He says he looks forward to tomorrow but the others say, "back to work". He sleeps at the office, and only managed to return to his apartment after 72 hours of working. Akira soon realizes that the company is exploiting him.
Two years ago, Akira Tendou says the one thing keeping him sane is Saori, who unfortunately now is also the CEO's "side piece". He says he doesn't want to leave his job because others would have to pick up his work.
Akira now in his third year of working at this exploitive company. While going to work one day, he stops to pay for his bike rental space. When no one answers at the paying window, Akira opens the door to find a zombie. It then chases him up the stairs, all the way to the roof of his apartment building.
When he looks down to the chaotic street, Akira's overjoyed with the fact that with this, he won't have to go to work anymore. His first thought is to find Saori, to tell her about how he feels. He goes to her house and finds the CEO and his crush Saori have been turned into zombies. He admits to the zombies about his true feelings. He told his zombified CEO of how he hates his job and he is "resigning" effective immediately, while confessing to his zombified crush and saying goodbye as he ran away on a bicycle.
